In State v. McFarland, the Court ordered appellee/cross-appellee A.B. to file a memorandum in response by Tuesday, March 31, to both appellant/cross-appellee State of Ohio’s memorandum in support of jurisdiction and appellee/cross-appellant Christopher McFarland’s memorandum in support of cross-appeal.
In State ex rel. Williams v. Lorain Cty. Court of Common Pleas, Domestic Relations Div., the Court ordered the respondents to file a response by Monday, April 13, to the relator’s “emergency notice of continued obstruction and denial of access to courts” and relator’s amended complaint.
In State ex rel. Durst v. Dept. of Rehab. & Corr., the Court denied the relator’s request for issuance of an additional summons.

In State v. Cowan, the Court vacated its Nov. 20, 2024, entry to dismiss the case and returned the matter to the regular docket. The Court gave the State of Ohio 30 days to file a memorandum in response to appellant David Cowan III’s memorandum in support of jurisdiction.
In Colt’s Neck Homeowners Assn. v. Franklin Cty. Bd. of Commrs. (2025-0693 and 2025-0980), the Court ordered the parties to file simultaneous, supplemental briefs that address whether the Tenth District Court of Appeals had jurisdiction to hear the appeal under the jurisdictional-priority rule.
In State ex rel. McCormack v. Ashtabula Cty. Med. Ctr., the Court granted a request to stay the briefing scheduled in the case while the parties finalize a settlement.

State ex rel. Hicks v. Clermont Cty. Bd. of Elections
In State ex rel. Hicks v. Clermont Cty. Bd. of Elections, the Court denied a request to compel the board of elections to hold a hearing.
The Court returned State ex rel. Phlipot v. Doug Smith Farms from mediation and placed it back on the regular docket to proceed.

In State ex rel. Williams v. Lorain Cty. Court of Common Pleas, Domestic Relations Div., the Court ordered respondents to file a response to the amended complaint within 21 days of the court’s entry.
The Court declined to accept State v. Jackson for review, with a dissenting opinion.

In State ex rel. Spencer v. Stark Cty. Bd. of Elections, the Court denied a request for a writ of prohibition.
In Cleveland Metro. Bar Assn. v. Hummel, and Disciplinary Counsel v. McNamara, the Court suspended Karen Hummel of Chardon and Walter McNamara IV of Columbus from the practice of law for an interim period.

March 18, 2026
In State ex rel. Giesige v. Bur. of Sentencing Computation, the Court ordered the relator to submit within 14 days a request for issuance of an additional summons at an alternative address or show cause why this case should not be dismissed for failure to perfect service.
