Office of Attorney Services

The Office of Attorney Services coordinates the work of the Attorney Services Division and provides staff assistance and oversight to the following Court-appointed entities and in the following areas:

Attorney Registration
Administers the biennial registration of attorneys.

Attorney Portal
(NOTE: This site is password protected)

Agency Billing
For use by employers who wish to pay their attorneys' registration fees. Employers should have their attorneys' registration numbers.

Attorney Directory
A directory of attorneys who have been admitted to the practice of law in Ohio.

Continuing Legal Education
Monitors compliance by Ohio judges and lawyers with continuing legal education requirements.

Attorney Specialization|
Regulates the certification of attorneys as specialists.

Board on the Unauthorized Practice of Law - Gov. Bar R. VII
Hears complaints that allege a person who is not admitted to the practice of law in Ohio is rendering legal services for another.

Pro Hac Vice Admission
Registers out-of-state attorneys seeking permission to appear pro hac vice before Ohio tribunals.

Commission on Professionalism - Gov. Bar R. XV
Engages in activities designed to promote professionalism among Ohio judges and attorneys including the Lawyer to Lawyer Mentoring Program.

Statement on Pro Bono Services

Lawyer Referral and Information Services- Gov. Bar R. XVI
Ensures that lawyer referral services operate in compliance with Gov. Bar R. XVI.

List of Registered Referral Services

Commission on Appointment of Counsel for Defendants in Capital Cases
Certifies attorneys who are eligible to accept court appointments to represent indigent defendants in death penalty trials and appeals in state courts.

Statewide List of Certified Attorneys
