Veterans Art Exhibit
The Supreme Court of Ohio invites justice-involved veterans to submit original artwork for an upcoming exhibit honoring their service and personal journeys. This special exhibit, to be displayed in November 2025 during National Veterans and Military Families Month, will celebrate the transformative power of art and creative expression in recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration.
Eligibility: Open to justice-involved veterans, with priority given to those engaged in art therapy programs.
Artwork Themes: Submissions should explore themes of healing, recovery, rehabilitation, or personal growth.
Submission Process: Artists must submit their work along with a brief artist statement describing their connection to art therapy and the inspiration behind their piece.
The exhibit will showcase artwork created by veterans who have been involved in art therapy programs through specialized dockets, the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, reentry programs, or the Veterans Administration. Each piece will reflect the artist’s unique path toward healing and the role of creative expression in overcoming trauma, substance use, and justice system involvement.
The exhibit will be held in the Native American Lobby of the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center. Selected pieces will be displayed on professional grid panels, accompanied by labels highlighting the artist’s story.
