America 250

America is preparing for its 250th birthday on July 4, 2026.

The Court is celebrating the semiquincentennial with a year-long celebration called “The Story of America" highlighting significant historical events. Beyond digital content, the celebration will include events and displays at the Court. The initiative aims to spark curiosity, enhance civic literacy, and honor key moments in American and Ohio history.

The Story of America: This Day in History

On October 30, 1735, John Adams, the 2nd President of the United States, was born. | In 1938, a radio broadcast of “War of Worlds” incited nationwide panic, with many believing Martians had attacked the planet. | In 1888, John J. Loud received the first patent for a ballpoint pen.
