The Supreme Court of Ohio is committed to access and justice for all.

Inclusion and equity in access to justice, diversity and fairness in the courts can impact the public trust and confidence in the criminal and civil justice system in Ohio.

The Supreme Court of Ohio is committed to equity regardless of age, disability, ethnicity, foreign origin, gender, language, race, religion, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status.

The Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion:

  • Works with the public on job recruitment, and opportunities for the lawyers of tomorrow.
  • Promotes the value of different perspectives and encourages a diverse workforce to achieve judicial fairness.
  • Monitors demographics of the workforce.

The Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion:

  • Develops training and education for lawyers to identify inherent bias and shares best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion in law firm management.
  • Works with the lawyers of tomorrow to identify opportunities for experience to match their goals and mentors to help them achieve.
  • Promotes pro bono opportunities for attorneys.

The Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion works with the Judicial College and the Court Services Division of the Supreme Court to enhance education and training for judicial officers and court personnel. Training within the judicial branch includes awareness of inherent bias, creating a diverse workplace, and ensuring fairness under the law.
