Governor Appoints Taylor to Van Wert County Probate/Juvenile Court
Van Wert attorney Kevin H. Taylor was appointed to the Van Wert County Probate/Juvenile Court on Thursday by Gov. John R. Kasich. He replaces former Judge Rex D. Fortney who retired on December 31.
Taylor, who’s a partner in the Van Wert law firm of Young, Taylor & Yarger, will take the bench on March 26. He must run in the November 6, 2012 general election to retain the seat for the unexpired term that ends February 8, 2015.
Taylor received a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and a law degree from the University of Toledo College of Law. Since 1989, he’s been a Van Wert County assistant prosecutor.
Taylor is a member of the Ohio State and Van Wert County bar associations. Since 1994, he has taught at the Ohio Police Officers Training Academy at Vantage Career Center in Van Wert.
