Ohio Court Personnel Associations Announce Conference Dates for 2012
As the new year kicks off, court personnel can look forward to many educational and networking opportunities in 2012 as Ohio court personnel associations announce their conference dates for the year.
Non-judicial court personnel including court administrators, chief probation officers, and clerks of court, among others, can attend conferences throughout the year to benefit from continuing education on new legislation, management techniques and other topics related to their work. The conferences are mostly located in central Ohio.
Court personnel representatives from each association, along with members of the Judicial College, help plan courses and share association updates as part of the work of the Court Personnel Education and Training (CPET) Committee. The Judicial College compiles all the statewide association conference dates and disseminates that information to the courts in Ohio. View the current CPET roster.
“There are associations for almost every court personnel position,” said Milt Nuzum, director of the Judicial College. “The conferences are run by these associations, and while attending conferences is not required for court personnel, they are extremely important for educational purposes. In any line of work, there are always updates to proper procedures. There is also great value in networking at these conferences to borrow ideas from each other or find solutions to common problems.”
