Justice Yvette McGee Brown Serves as Leadership Luncheon Panelist
Supreme Court of Ohio Justice Yvette McGee Brown joined the YWCA Columbus Leadership Luncheon Series yesterday as a panelist for a discussion on the power of managing expectations.
“As women, we know a lot is expected of us, from our colleagues, our children, our spouses, our communities. Today, I am giving you permission to say, ‘NO.’ Too often we think we have to agree to everything that is asked of us. Learning to say no and managing your own expectations is powerful,” Justice McGee Brown said.
“But I think it’s equally important to check your expectations of other people,” she said. “Make sure you’ve got it right on your end, that are you realistic about what you’re getting so you can be better prepared. It’s a balance.”
Hosted by YWCA Columbus, the Leadership Luncheon Series provides meaningful networking opportunities and practical knowledge that attendees can use in their work and everyday life.
