(Dec. 21, 2010) The Supreme Court of Ohio today indefinitely suspended the law license of attorney Ramie Ann Resnick of Cleveland for multiple violations of the Code of Professional Responsibility arising from her conviction for possession of illegal drugs in 2006 and separate convictions in 2007 for resisting arrest and disrupting public service. Her license has been under an interim suspension since the Court was notified of her drug offense conviction in January 2007.
In a 7-0 per curiam opinion, the Court adopted findings by the Board of Commissioners on Grievances & Discipline that Resnick’s actions violated the state attorney discipline rules that prohibit engaging in illegal conduct involving moral turpitude, conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation, and conduct that adversely reflects on a lawyer’s fitness to practice.
As the sanction for that misconduct, the Court indefinitely suspended Resnick’s license retroactive to the date of her interim suspension. It also imposed as preconditions for any future reinstatement that Ramey must be evaluated by the Ohio Lawyers Assistance Program, enter into and comply with all aspects of a substance abuse or mental health recovery contract that organization may determine is necessary, provide a report from a qualified mental health profession that she is able to return to the competent and ethical practice of law, and submit to a period of post-reinstatement monitoring of her practice.

On Certified Report by the Board of Commissioners on Grievances and Discipline, No. 09-065. Kevin M. Hunt, Attorney Registration No. 0073405, is suspended from the practice of law in Ohio for six months.
Brown, C.J., and Pfeifer, Lundberg Stratton, O'Connor, O'Donnell, Lanzinger, and Cupp, JJ., concur.
Opinion: http://www.supremecourt.ohio.gov/rod/docs/pdf/0/2010/2010-Ohio-6148.pdf
(Dec. 21, 2010) The law license of Dayton attorney Kevin M. Hunt has been suspended for six months for neglecting legal matters entrusted to him in two different cases, failing to respond to repeated attempts by those clients to obtain information about their cases, and subsequently failing to cooperate with the investigation of the client grievances filed against him with the Dayton Bar Association.
In today’s 7-0 per curiam decision, the Supreme Court adopted findings by the Board of Commissioners on Grievances & Discipline that Hunt’s conduct violated the state discipline rules that require an attorney to act with reasonable diligence and promptness in representing a client and to keep clients reasonably informed about the status of their legal matters, and that Hunt also neglected or refused to assist in the investigation of a disciplinary matter.
