Supreme Court Adopts Traffic Rule Amendment

The Supreme Court of Ohio has adopted an amendment to the Ohio Traffic Rules that clarifies the authority of traffic violations bureaus. The Commission on the Rules of Practice and Procedure recommended the change, which takes effect Feb. 1.

The addition to Rule 13(B)(4) states that driving while under suspension or revocation of a driver’s or commercial driver’s license cannot be processed by a traffic violations bureau “when jail is a possible penalty.”
