Governor Fills Two Judicial Vacancies in Wayne County
Gov. John R. Kasich filled two judgeships today, one vacancy in Wayne County Probate/Juvenile Court and a second vacancy in Wayne County Municipal Court.
Latecia Wiles of Wooster will take the probate/juvenile bench on Wednesday, the same day that Mark C. Clark of Dalton will assume office in municipal court.
Wiles replaces former Judge Raymond E. Leisy who retired March 31. She must run in the November general election to retain the seat for the unexpired term that ends February 8, 2015.
Clark replaces former Judge William G. Rickett who retired January 31. He must run in the November 2013 general election to retain the seat for the unexpired term that ends December 31, 2015.
Wiles received her bachelor’s degree from the College of Wooster and her law degree from the University of Akron School of Law. Since January 2011, she has served as a Supervising Attorney for Appellate and Civil Divisions in the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
Wiles is a member of the Ohio State and Wayne County bar associations. She is a founding member and secretary of the Wayne County Volunteer Guardianship Program and the recipient of the 2011 Meritorious Assistant Prosecuting Attorney award from the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association.
Clark received his bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and his law degree from the University of Akron School of Law. Currently, he serves as a magistrate in the municipal court, which he has done since 2008.
