Governor Appoints Barker to Cuyahoga Common Pleas Court

Brecksville resident Pamela A. Barker will become the newest judge on the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court bench when she takes office on Sept. 19 after her appointment today by Gov. John R. Kasich.

Barker replaces former Judge Steven Terry, who resigned on June 14. In order to serve out the remainder of Terry’s term, which ends Jan. 2, 2015, Barker must run in the November 2012 general election.

Barker has 28 years of legal experience and works for Farmers Insurance as Claims Counsel. Barker also serves as a juvenile diversion magistrate for the City of Brecksville and as a magistrate in mayor’s court. She has worked for Bristol West Insurance, Davis & Young, and had her own legal practice

She earned her bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College and her law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
