Kasich appoints Bender to Fayette County Bench

Gov. John Kasich appointed Fayette County Prosecutor David Bender as Fayette County Probate/Juvenile Court judge today. He will take the bench on May 18 and fill the vacancy created by Judge Nancy Hammond's retirement.

Bender, of Washington Court House, must run in the November 2012 general election in order to serve out the remainder of the unexpired term ending Feb. 8, 2015.

Bender earned his bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Toledo. He has been admitted to practice law in Ohio and U.S. District Court Southern District of Ohio and served as prosecutor since 2005. From 1987 through 1999, Bender was a partner with Butler & Bender, Attorneys at Law, and owner of the Bender Law Office since 1999.

Bender is a member of the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association (OPAA), the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Fayette County Bar Association.
