Triennial SuperMeeting Targets Improving Efficiency in Courts

At a time when court budgets are tighter than ever, hundreds of non-judicial court personnel will gather this week to discuss improving efficiency in the courts.

Every three years, several court personnel associations hold their fall conferences during the same week and participate in a Supreme Court of Ohio Judicial College course that’s dubbed the SuperMeeting. Titled “Excelling in Changing Times: Taking Performance to the Next Level,” this year’s course will explore efficiencies and innovations to help court organizations and individuals excel.

Court personnel belonging to the associations for court administrators, clerks of courts, municipal/county court clerks, bailiffs and court security officers, chief probation officers, and urban juvenile court administrators will attend, as their conferences are scheduled for Wednesday and/or Friday. Other court personnel who are not members of these or any associations will attend Thursday’s SuperMeeting too.

The Judicial College, an office within the Supreme Court, was created in 1976 to help judges meet their mandatory education requirements. Education of Ohio magistrates and non-judicial court personnel were added to the mission over the years. This education is partially funded by attendee registration fees and federal grants.
