Judicial College Releases 2011 Course Calendar

With 2011 about two weeks away, the Supreme Court of Ohio Judicial College announced a full schedule of courses for next year to help the state’s judicial system partners meet their educational requirements.

The Supreme Court today posted the 2011 course calendar with dates, locations and targeted audiences for courses, including those delivered by video conference and distance learning.

A total of 150 courses fill out the schedule for judges, acting judges, magistrates, judicial candidates, court personnel and attorneys. Judicial College Director Milt Nuzum noted that this total doesn’t reflect the monthly Webinars and online courses that are offered throughout the year on an as-needed basis.

Created in 1976 and governed by Gov. Jud. R. V, the Judicial College was established to provide educational programs and activities for Ohio judges. In 1988, the program was expanded to include court referees and magistrates, and in 1990 the college began to provide programs for non-judicial court personnel throughout the state.
