Domestic Relations Judges to Attend Winter Association Meeting
Ohio domestic relations court judges will convene next week for their annual winter meeting.
Presented by the Ohio Association of Domestic Relations Judges, the one-day event will include a business meeting and luncheon to elect new officers and trustees of the association for 2011.
The Supreme Court of Ohio Judicial College will administer the education portion of the meeting with the following courses on the agenda.
- A course that offers a judicial framework for addressing alienation allegations in child custody disputes where judges will learn strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of children and abused parents.
- A course that examines current cases involving same sex marriages making their way through courts around the nation in an effort to improve judicial decision making and procedure by judicial officers.
- A course that explores access to justice and fairness in the courts regarding self-represented litigants in domestic relations court and how these issues impact the public’s trust and confidence in the judicial system.
