Court Administrators Named Certified Court Executives
Three Ohio court administrators recently graduated from a national court executive professional certification program.
Maureen Flavin, deputy court administrator with Cleveland Municipal Court; Andrew J. Gillen, assistant court administrator with Hamilton County Municipal Court; and Kenneth R. Teleis, court administrator with Summit County Domestic Relations Court, each completed the Institute for Court Management Court Executive Development Program.
U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. welcomed and addressed the 2009 Fellows class of 22 court professionals from around the nation during graduation ceremonies earlier this month at the U.S. Supreme Court.
Established more than 30 years ago with a goal of improving the management of state court administration, the intensive four-phase educational program better prepares court professionals for management and leadership positions. Coursework includes topics on court performance standards, caseflow management, human resources, fiscal management and technology management. Participants also prepare and present a master’s level research paper on implementing a court improvement initiative and critique the work of others.
