Grievances & Discipline Board Re-Elects Chair, Vice Chair
Knox County Common Pleas Court Judge Otho Eyster will serve as the chairman of the Supreme Court’s Board of Commissioners on Grievances & Discipline for 2010. He was re-elected by the board at its December meeting.
Judge Eyster has served on the board since January 2004, was vice chairman in 2008 and chairman in 2009. A common pleas judge since his election in 1991, Eyster served as a judge of the Mt. Vernon Municipal Court for nine years. He also has served as Knox County prosecuting attorney. He received his undergraduate and law degrees from The Ohio State University.
The board also re-elected Stephen Rodeheffer of Portsmouth as vice chairman for 2010, who served in the same capacity this year. Mr. Rodeheffer received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and juris doctor degree from Ohio Northern University. He is a partner in the Rodeheffer and Miller law firm and is a member and former trustee of the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers.
The board is composed of 28 members, appointed by the Supreme Court. Four are public members, seven are active or retired judges, and 17 are lawyers from throughout the state. The board issues findings and recommendations to the Court on ethical misconduct complaints lodged against Ohio attorneys and judges.
